Zynga Said to Bring in $30-$50M Selling Virtual Goods

January 9th, 2009

A blog entry on VentureBeat yesterday reported that a Zynga investor disclosed the company is bringing in $30-$50M a year on “virtual good sales” — a big portion of which is being contributed by selling chips in their Taxes Hold’em online poker game.

It’s not surprising as the company has several very popular titles on Facebok and on iPhone platforms, e.g. My Heroes Abilities, Yoville — besides Taxes Hold’em.  It’s especially a good news for Team Sosauce.  It means that if you make good games, people are willing to pay for items in them.  With the web 3D techonogies we hold here at the Sosauce Mesa Team, I’m sure there’s a bright future ahead of us!
